Hey yo! Welcome to March WNBA card collectors and investors. Hope your month is off to a great start 🙂

For February, PSA continued to churn out WNBA slabs at a good clip, but you’ll be happy to know output is down from the January peak. In total, 885 WNBA cards got a new plastic suit.

The leader was once again Sabrina Ionescu and 2020 Panini Prizm WNBA, but GOAT Diana Taurasi finally saw her 2004 Fleer Ultra WNBA card go over the century mark.

With that, lets dig into some of the numbers!

Remember, collect what you love. Invest in what you can afford to lose.

There are Almost 7,000 2020 WNBA Cards in PSA Slabs

To put this in perspective; last year at this time there were less than 9,000 WNBA cards in PSA slabs.

There are almost twice as many 2020 Panini Prizm WNBA cards in PSA slabs than there are the next most popular set, 1997 Pinnacle Inside WNBA.

What’s incredible is that by time the PSA backlog clears in early summer, nearly half of all WNBA cards in PSA slabs will be from the 2020 set.

It will be interesting to see what this does to pricing, both in the short, and long term.

There is a strong collector base focused on ultra modern, and it is a first year Prizm set, but one can only look to the 1997 set and wonder if long term price appreciation will be tough for any card higher in population.

2004 Ultra Diana Taurasi Passes the Century Mark

It’s surprising it’s taken this long, but the Diana Taurasi rookie card finally joined the three figure club.

While the POP count has grown steadily the past year and a half, there’s still on four PSA 10s, making this one of the lowest GEM rates of any popular modern athlete’s card.

Fan favorites Sue Bird, Lauren Jackson, Breanna Stewart, and first time all star Satou Sabally also saw sizeable increases in their population.

Here’s a look at how the POP looks for the 35 of the top WNBA rookie cards.
