Yo, what’s up fellow WNBA card collectors, investors, and evil flippers 😂

Since our last update late in July, PSA has been BUSY. In total, PSA graded 1,081 cards, a bit over 2.5x the amount graded for the previous 30 day period.

This is the highest number of WNBA cards that have been pumped out of PSA for any 30 day period in the past 12 months. There’s now almost 13,000 WNBA cards in PSA slabs.

2020 Panini Prizm POP Count Explodes

Over 80% of the total PSA cards graded during the 30 day period, a whopping 976, where from this past year’s release. This is a 49% increase!

The overwhelming majority of the 2020 Panini Prizm WNBA cards graded were no surprise – Sabrina Ionescu rookie cards. The Signature Series autograph cards saw a large jump as well, since many expect the first Prizm autos to hold their value long term.

This makes the 2020 set the second most graded WNBA card set ever, trailing only the 1997 inaugural season set.

Sabrina Ionescu Rookie Cards Now Third Most Graded WNBA Card Ever

Oh Sabrina! The Prizm heads have driven the Liberty PG to the top of the charts thanks to the allure of her college career and buzz the league built for her return to the courts.

Her 2020 Panini Prizm WNBA rookie card is now third to only Sheryl Swoopes, and Cynthia Cooper, both all time greats and hall of famers. This should obviously give collectors and investors pause for concern. Given Sabrina’s performance hasn’t exactly looked like that of a multi-time MVP capable of pulling down multiple titles, there’s an awful lot of her encapsulated cardboard out there.

While the jury is still out on whether or not Sabrina will end up at the the top of the all time player charts, it’s highly likely we see another WNBA rookie card approach this high of a population count at PSA any time soon.

That’s it for this month. Do you think PSA has cleared through all of the Panini Prizm WNBA cards in their backlog, or are we set to see another large bump in September?
