Highest WNBA Cards Sales on eBay for February 2021
Hey there WNBA collector or investor!
This is getting out the door late. March was incredibly busy. This report found itself at the bottom of the list. Better late than never is what I am going with :)
Sales were once again strong for WNBA cards at auction. There were a total of 8 four figure sales in February, the same as January. Sales to start March have also been strong.
There has been a bit of a reset on some WNBA raw rookie cards. Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi raw prices continue to rise steadily, while the 2011 Rittenhouse Maya Moore has dropped from previous highs. Yes, even the older, lower print, WNBA cards are not immune to the lulls of the market.
The biggest story for February at the auction is the popularity of the ultra modern cards, particularly Sabrina Ionescu and Sue Bird. Apparently not everyone is concerned about rarity - they want shiny :)
Sue Bird Dominates February
Sue Bird is popular. In February it showed at auction. Her cards appeared 7 times in the top 20 list. This includes three of the top four highest sales.
This is not a surprise. It's Sue Bird after all.
I point it out to show the large disparity in player diversity. Two players accounted for 60% of the top 20 listings. The WNBA card market is very much concentrated in a handful of players.
Is this a bad thing? Maybe for the long term. In the short, that spells more deals for those of us not collecting those two players.
