Yo! How’s it going?

Hopefully you’ve been busy pulling some favorite player out of a 2022 Prizm WNBA Hobby Box. I’ve had a string of great boxes from the first two cases I’ve opened.

Check out @WNBACardscom on Instagram to see what the card gods have given us.

Now, onto the September POP report. September total outputs stayed on trend with August, with over 800 new WNBA cards hit the PSA shipping docks since our last report.

I know that I’ve taken advantage of PSA’s new pricing, so the pickup in volume leads me to believe others have. At $18 per card and a $199 max value, it makes sense to send in a lot more WNBA cards then at $30 or $50.

There are now 23,205 WNBA cards in PSA slabs. There were just under 13,000 at the end of September 2021. The bulk of the returned PSA slabs continue to belong to the 2019, 2020, and 2021 WNBA releases.

The W25 registry set cards continue to see rising POP counts, albeit at a much slower rate than their ultra modern sisters.

With a strong 2022 rookie class, I see a lot more ultra modern WNBA cards in PSA slabs in the near future. And let’s not forget:

Revolution WNBA hobby boxes are dropping real soon.

What will people in the hobby think of WNBA cards in 20 years?

Covid. Card bubble. Grading explosion. In 20 years, are we going to look back on the volume of PSA slabs and think we should’ve graded more?

I’m not suggesting you blow steam out of your ears thinking about it. I merely find the lopsidedness of volume in terms of most graded WNBA sets, remarkable.

My guts says not every WNBA card should be graded, but time may prove me wrong…

2020 Panini Prizm WNBA continues to lead in total volume, lead by all time singles leader Sabrina Ionescu’s rookie card.

I almost bought one last week. For a 10th of what I last sold one for at the peak of the covid card madness.

Collectors and speculators continue to chase Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird PSA 10 rookie cards

There were no shockers on the top 35 WNBA rookie card list since we last touched base.

Sabrina is still #1. Collectors and speculators continue to send in Diana Taurasi rookie cards and 2002 Ultra WNBA Sue Birds.

The harder to find (and lesser known) WNBA cards are seeing very low growth rates. They didn’t make enough.
