Yo! Happy Holidays!

It’s always a crazy, but enjoyable, time of year around the Smith household. Hope you’re enjoying your family and friends (even if they’re starting to drive you crazy).

October showed the lowest output of the year from PSA. Things came back in November, with over 800 WNBA cards getting put in PSA slabs.

Let’s take a look at the November 2022 WNBA cards PSA POP count report for more details on the movers and shakers in the charts.

PSA grading comes back to previous averages in November

The slowdown seen in October didn’t become a trend in November. Volume bounced back in November, with 806 WNBA cards getting slabbed.

There are now 24,498 WNBA cards in PSA slabs. At the end of November 2021 there were a little over 15,000. This is over a 60% percent increase year over year.

If there’s a slow down in the hobby, it sure ain’t happening with PSA slabbed WNBA cards. Let’s take a look at POP count from the top WNBA sets.

Top PSA graded WNBA sets show modest growth

Once again the ultra modern sets dominated the submission returns. 2021 Panini Prizm WNBA had the largest increase of the ultra modern sets, with 10% increase in total population.

The growing ultra modern POP counts will be a continuing trend. One that is not likely to end. There’s a lot more availability of these sets and obviously more interest in players active with the league from most of the market.

A surprise gainer was the 1998 Pinnacle WNBA set, which saw it’s POP count grow by 14%, tops across all years in the top 10.

Here’s what the top 10 WNBA Card sets PSA POP counts look like:

No major changes to the Top 35 WNBA rookie cards

There were no major surprises or big gainers in November. While the overall POP counts continue to grow, most of the growth is slow.

Of course many of these cards have healthy availability on the open market, so it could be that investors and speculators are slowing their submission of these key collection cards.
