Hey there collectors, flippers, and investors! It’s time for another PSA POP count update.
Last month saw over 700 WNBA cards get slabbed by PSA, which was up from March, and a bit of a surprise (at least to me).
Things definitely calmed down in May, with only 268 new slabs hitting the POP reports. There are now over 12,800 WNBA cards in PSA slabs.
This is the lowest amount returned by PSA graders in a year, which likely signals that much of the cheap bulk submissions from the past year are out the door.
We are likely to see a low number of new PSA slabbed WNBA cards until the 2022 Panini Prizm WNBA product releases, since the 2021 draft class has really fizzled out.
The Overall WNBA Card PSA POP Count Has Doubled
If you have been following along for any number of months, you knew this was coming.
The number of WNBA cards in PSA slabs has doubled in the past year. This is similar to what has happened in many other niches of the hobby, however when it comes to WNBA cards, it’s really concentrated into two areas.
The first is 2020 Panini Prizm WNBA. The first year Prizm release was very popular and when combined with the rise in grading, close to 75% of the POP count increase comes from this set.
The second are the W25 PSA Registry set rookies. The majority of the cards on the list have saw their POP counts double and in some cases triple.
In time the market may be able to absorb this huge increase in slabs, but for right now there are a lot of WNBA cards in PSA holders looking for a buyer.

Diana Taurasi and Candace Parker Rookie Cards Rise
The biggest movers in May on the Top 35 WNBA Rookie Cards list were the 2004 Fleer WNBA Diana Taurasi and the 2008 Rittenhouse WNBA Candace Parker rookie cards.
DT saw her rookie card POP count increase 14.53%, while CP3 saw her rookie card POP count grow by 16.67%. Other than these two, the list was pretty quiet.
