Howdy partner! I thought I’d kick off the July 2022 eBay sales report with a little Texas slang in honor of the Dallas Wings making it a series against the Connecticut Sun.
All jokes aside, July was a solid month for WNBA card sales on eBay. The highlight was a record sale of a 2004 Fleer Ultra WNBA Diana Taurasi PSA 10 rookie card at $8,999.99.
The market remains hit or miss. Depending on the day and time of the auction, many great WNBA cards are going for recent lows, only to sell for 25-50% more just a few weeks later.
This means it continues to be a buyers market for the most part, but for the right card, sellers are still getting exceptional prices if you zoom out to a five year period.
Remember WNBA card fans, most of these cards were selling for a few hundred bucks or less in 2018.
WNBA All Stars and GOATs Shine This July
We finally got a break from the sales dominance Sabrina Ionescu has held on the market for the last few months in July.
The top sales list was dominated by GOATs and All-Stars, with players such as Breanna Stewart, Sue Bird, Lauren Jackson, Brittney Griner, and Skylar Diggins Smith all making the list.
It was refreshing to see the greats of the game throughout the list. Maybe this is a sign that the new entrants that came in to the market thanks to WNBA Prizm are starting to explore the earlier years.
