The biggest news from the month of December is the continued growth of the 2020 Panini Prizm WNBA PSA POP count. With another 1,000 or so cards graded in the last month of the year, there is now over 4,000 graded 2020 Prizm WNBA cards.
In total, there were over 1,500 WNBA cards graded by PSA in December 2021, making it the highest month this year. More than 30% of the all time WNBA card POP count has come since July of this year.
There are now almost 17,000 WNBA cards in PSA slabs.
2020 Panini Prizm WNBA is Queen
It was only a matter of time, but 2020 Prizm WNBA has finally over taken 1997 Pinnacle Inside WNBA as the most grade WNBA set of all time.
If you’ve been following along this year, the fact that 2020 Prizm WNBA now reigns supreme it should be no surprise to see this.
While I am not surprised it happened, it did happen much faster than I thought. The set is now close to 1/3 of the total graded population of WNBA cards.
I guess everyone loves base Sabrina Ionescu rookie cards. Maybe one day there will be a Sabrina in every home.
All jokes aside, the increased buzz around WNBA cards thanks to 2020 Panini WNBA has been great for our little slice of the hobby.
It will be interesting to see what this does for pricing as the season approaches.
Last year base Sabrina PSA 10 rookies cards were going for over $700. Now you can find them for $75.

You get a Sabrina, You get a Sabrina. Everyone gets a Sabrina.
After taking a break last month from talking about the crazy growth in the population of Sabrina Ionescu rookie cards, I’m back to fill this white space with more them.
The base Sabrina population grew to 1,361, with over 500 PSA 10s. At the current rate (which I expect should slow), there should be twice as many graded base Sabrina’s as the number two card on the list in the next two months.
It’s a bit crazy to think about this, given the number two card is Sheryl Swoopes’ 1997 Pinnacle Inside rookie card. What is even crazier to think, is there are almost 14x as many Sabrina base graded as 2004 Ultra Diana Taurasi rookie cards.
With a large fan base already, I remain optimistic that this supply is still relatively low, but should her play not exceed expectations in a few years, her card come become a poster child for the pandemic fueled exuberance that captured everyone in the hobby.
