Base Set
The 2007 Rittenhouse WNBA set contains 90 base cards and 95 insert cards across five different sets (2006 WNBA Highlights, 2006 WNBA League Leaders, 2006 All WNBA Teams, 2007 WNBA Rookies). The set has a Parallel that is numbered to 333. There are also two Case Incentives cards featuring women’s basketball legends Nancy Lieberman and Ann Meyers.
The site marked the official decline of WNBA cards in popularity and print runs. This set had nearly one third the production run of the first year 2005 Rittenhouse WNBA set. I believe this is due in part to the lack of star rookies in 05, 06, and 07. With the looming financial crisis ahead, this is the start of the dark years for WNBA cards.
